Re: One Year of Trump

I think given how little the rich care about the devastating impacts of global warming that are coming, evidenced by their concerted efforts to ensure the US and other countries maintain a course that ensures them profits, that they don't really GAF about any of the people who would starve or suffer...

Re: One Year of Trump

An excellent point. I firmly believe that the two opposite ends don't mean that they're both bad. The opposite of equality is inequality. There's no argument to be made that equality is bad. The opposite of fascism and capitalism are communism/socialism. I don't believe for a second that, done democ...

Re: One Year of Trump

I never said there was a large scale example. I said communism is modeled after the ways in which indigenous tribes around the globe operated. I knew you were going to suggest Holodomor was an "example" of communism killing people, but that's complete nonsense. Suggesting that communism ki...

Re: One Year of Trump

Everything you stated are things that happened before trump. Both democrat and rep. All those same dems and reps both railed against trump. Bush jr went on talk shows to talk bad about trump. Trump is something diff. I personally think he is a biblical character. Elijah or the 2nd coming. The first...

Re: One Year of Trump

It's not a sad outlook. The wealthy in America attacked communism because communism works for the people, not the wealthy, and they were afraid of what would happen if workers cared enough about themselves to change the system. Imperialism, war crimes, and murder aren't "greatness". We did...

Re: One Year of Trump

I mean, some of that shit he still ain't done, idk where you think he's abolished common core or brought back manufacturing jobs. Or stopped immigration from the ME. Or gotten a wall paid for by Mexico. Most of what you're claiming is a fabrication. Equally as important, just because he did some of ...

Re: One Year of Trump

I think you're missing the basic notion that people don't want to pay for anyone else getting healthcare and that taxes, by a large number of people in the U.S, is seen as something inherently bad/evil and should be avoided if at all possible. 70% support a change, yes, but I don't think 70% of the...

Re: One Year of Trump

Also I feel that businesses understand that while an increase in taxes would be offset by what they pay for in employer coverage, if Americans had access to universal healthcare it would embolden them to seek out jobs that pay better, unionize, etc. People would not be feel locked into deadbeat dead...

Re: One Year of Trump

I think employers fear that it would be primarily funded by an increase in taxes on top-end earners and on businesses (as it rightly should be) and that that would cut into their profit margins, which are far more important to their investors than any moral obligation to the public or the society th...
