Re: Brand new player, need some advice/help

Hmm the Arglebargle, glop-glyf!?! suggests that either the .xml scripts are not installed, or they are not active. (So, Mudlet doesn't recognise the 'resetqueue' command as meaning anything.) If they have been installed properly, when you click the 'Scripts' button at the top of Mudlet, you should s...

Re: Brand new player, need some advice/help

You shouldn't need to switch away from Mudlet. It works fine for me and several others. I assume you are referring to these instructions posted by Katherine in a different post: 1. download the .dat file from the links Adael posted in another thread. Re: WOTMUD RP Campaign Sign-up Sheet

I will bring Raeza. 1. Mostly Lawful Good (though tending towards Neutral in some areas -- logic first and foremost and all). 2. White Ajah 3. I'm in the UK, so later than 8 pm server or before 5 am server is generally not great. Otherwise, I have a fairly flexible schedule over the summer, especial...

Re: WOTMUD RP Campaign Sign-up Sheet

Love the idea of something to stimulate more RP, but could you say more about what this will entail? E.g., why do you need a pre-defined alignment for the character?

Re: Master Mob Lead (Way beyond 30 days) #SetThemFREE

Thanks for the comments. I fear that my post was taken as a personal 'whine' but actually I was just trying to share a newbie perspective from someone who was in that position more recently than probably most other people here. These days, I don't have much problem at all re-equipping a basic set or...

Re: Master Mob Lead (Way beyond 30 days) #SetThemFREE

I have only been playing this game actively for about a year and a half. (I also played for about a couple of months about 10 years ago, but not in the interim). I have no master characters. So, I am not going to comment on the nuances of PK balance. But, Treach (and Mhaliah earlier) noted some poin...

Re: How does db and pb work in a melee fight?

Ah, you are talking about completely working out the underlying system for combat. I had a much more modest goal in mind, which was just answering the following questions: 1. Are db and pb independent, or do they interact? 2. Are there 'threshold' levels of db/pb, or is their effect continuous? I th...

Re: How does db and pb work in a melee fight?

I've noticed that sometimes it says you "dodge" the attack, and other times it says that you "parry" or "deflect" the attack. If these correspond to a failed roll against db and a failed roll against pb, respectively, then I would think you might be able to exploit thes...
