EXPLAINED: Mountain Fortress (WG/Defenders CTF)

Postby Taziar » Mon Jan 09, 2017 7:07 pm

Mapping the area I noticed that you can ride your horse inside, but once you dismount you cannot remount. I don't remember seeing this anywhere else and wonder if it is intentional or a mistake. Following log shows in detail.

Code: Select all

Before a Mountain Fortress
Clinging to a large mountain in the Spine, the structure is constructed of
massive blocks of whitewashed stone. Soaring pillars are visible supporting
different levels as the fortress scales towards the peak. Above the gate
guarding the massive entrance, a lone flag is fluttering lazily.

Built both against and into the mountain, the area is almost entirely
stone. Massive pillars of yellow-red stone support a vaulted ceiling, all
hard lines and bare of any ornamentation or decor. Iron bands circle the
pillars, thoroughly rusted with age and weather. The courtyard is immense
and open sky is visible between the southern gate and the roof.

The Western Wing
As the fortress continues north and east, it cuts deep into the
mountainside. It is difficult to tell which stone was placed by whoever
built this lofty structure and which was carved directly from the
mountainside. Immense pillars carved of yellow-red stone line the wing,
spreading as they rise and connect with the ceiling high above.

There are a lot of rooms like this in the game. One notable one is 2n of the crossing in FD.
