EXPLAINED: dyemaking

Postby Callesa » Mon Jan 07, 2019 6:47 am

Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong, please?

I've tried this repeatedly, with all three ingredients. None worked.
I used the syntax from the ledger which is also on wikia: put berries/bark/blossom pot

* HP:Healthy SP:Bursting MV:Strong >
A Dye Shop
Enormous earthenware pots filled to the brim with colorful pigments line
the walls of this dye shop. Samples of each color have been placed on top
of each pot in a small bowl. Hues of expensive indigo stand beside blood
red, bright yellow and every other shade imaginable. A large counter with a
gilded set of scales stands at the back of the shop. A thick ledger
explaining how to produce dyes lies open on the counter. In the corner a
cooking pot hangs on a hook.
[ obvious exits: W ]
An old woman smiles kindly.
A black cat meanders to an unknown destination.
A boy stands here, grinning mischievously.
* HP:Healthy SP:Bursting MV:Strong >

You are carrying:
a handful of blackberries
[2] an egg
a plate of yellow peppers and pork
[2] a lantern

* HP:Healthy SP:Bursting MV:Strong >
put berries pot
You don't see a pot here.

............
The only thing I can do, is the second part and get an empty cask

put pot fire
Ok.
* HP:Healthy SP:Bursting MV:Fresh >
Put just water over the fire?
* HP:Healthy SP:Bursting MV:Fresh >
Callesa hangs a pot over a fire.
* HP:Healthy SP:Bursting MV:Fresh >

Steam starts wafting from the surface of the water.
A vague blotch of color appears in the liquid.
The water starts boiling.
The color in the water intensifies.
Thick steam wafts from the pot.
The liquid becomes more thick.
Bubbles of color pop and splatter as the liquid thickens.
You remove a pot from the fire and let the liquid cool.
You pour a dye in a cask.

If it is the same as I remember you need a cook pot in your inventory, maybe?
I’m not sure if someone copied my research incorrectly onto the wikia, but if my info is wrong above, please let me know.
*Never mind, I think someone only copied my work on weapons, not crafted side trades, but the wikia looks right to me as well.

Alayla is correct. You need a cast iron cooking pot.
I made dye just a couple days ago so can confirm it's working fine.

Ah, that is the problem! No clue how I could have missed that! Thank you!
