Thuvia and I have discussed the possibility of damage types having greater or lesser affect against types of equipment, but that would require a lot of testing to try and figure out if something like that was ever implemented or not.

Also I don't think clubs is the only weapon type to have an inherent modifier for bash per some test result I have seen Hress gather.

Pretty exciting. Glad the Immortals shared this. Have to give it to the players who figured out how to reverse engineer this awhile back and essentially duplicated the values we are seeing today. Thanks to the Wotmud Wiki / Wotmud archives people etc.

Been playing with lances and it's brilliant. Bash is as good as halberd/taxe/lblades - no complaints there. Damage seems just fine. You can go toe to toe with any regular abs/combo and it's good. I am not certain about dodge bash since I haven't run into Nexen etc, but I'm sure zerk/bash will not fail me. And having charge is super nice for clearing south blight, playing around with rogues. Now that abs is a little sturdier, I think this is a really terrific option. You also get a lot of free pracs (with clan bonus pracs of course) to get kick/pick or whatever you like for fun surprises.

Plus lances for lancer RP :D

Re-eq is a bit heavy on the pocket as it costs something like 300+ gc to re-eq an h/h steel shafted (and DS doesn't uses it so you won't get it in pk). But then no need for smobbing time.

A weapon thats 16+ lbs and charges shouldnt be uber cheap.

Also i wouldnt really use nexen as the benchmark for dodge, hes not in the "average" kind of kit.

What's considered average for dodge btw? I can get 120-130 db normally barring fancy equipment. I don't feel like I'm bashed THAT much but I don't pk as much as most either.

Id say the non rare kit


2x grings
2x sids
Red robe
2x kcuff
Cbelt

Camo hood
B tunic
E breeches
Cloth sleeves
Dark gloves
Tooled boots

Sure there are sub levels bellow that but i would really not want to be pking consistently in a kit worse than that unless i was building from the ground up working towards something like this.

With the addition of egown/dbelt/lace shirt you would add 5 more db (? Not sure on the new dbelt nerfing). Depending on choice of weapon and onyx shield use maybe 6-7 more

Id say you have sub 19 dex too Reyne as you are an fc and am pretty sure the cap for all channelers is 18 dex (instant loss of db there). I think the real benchmark is 140+ even then i feel paper thin being bashed by any abser with a decent weapon.

heron great bash is pretty terrible. I really expected more damage from it to be honest on top of that. It's an abs heron, it should sit everything if nothing else. but it's a heron so.. it should have good damage too. as good or better than a top of line domestic lblade.

I mean it has the third highest damage behind only Lamans and da'es Ashan.
