flee-stab...in a different sense

* R HP:Critical MV:Weary >
*Angkar* has arrived from above.

* R HP:Critical MV:Weary > bash h.angkar

As *Angkar* avoids your bash, you topple over and fall to the ground!
This session you've missed 2 out of 11 bashes 81%landed
*Angkar* panics, and attempts to flee! - FLEE
Suddenly *someone* places something in your back! - STAB
You are dead! Sorry...
You feel the Weave of the Wheel loosen from you.
Circle of Light
[ obvious exits: N D ]
A wooden practice shield has been dropped here.
The waters of a blue-veined marble fountain pour forth here.
A stout wooden barrel stands nearby.
A kind-faced figure stands here.

Im so confused.

Why are you rolling unengaged bash on a stabber?
Why isn't he meleeing when you're crit?

It was at Ragan - I'd already been bashed hurt-low batt whilst Iden remained crit. So I sat away a tick for fleelag and gave the stab a try knowing Ragan would save me from a retaliatory charge. Had the bash landed I would have been in deep trouble, or dead.
